About AZ Lawyers LLP
We are not your Grandpa’s law firm. We are approachable and we speak your language. We know that you don’t want to be bogged down in legalese and confronted with unnecessary complexity. That’s why we give clear explanations and recommendations. By keeping you fully informed, we can provide you with better service.
Our goal is to be Client Centred
And by ‘Client Centred’ we mean that we will start with the service experience that you want, and then work backwards. We won’t take our lead from what our competitors do, or what is cheapest. We won’t cut corners when it comes to client service. We will listen to what is most important to you and then deliver that service experience. We believe our focus on Client Centred Law makes us different.
Doug has been providing his clients with common-sense and respected legal solutions for over 25 years.
Doug is a believer in efficiently solving client’s problems and helping clients achieve their goals. He believes that lawyers are not there to stand in the way of settling matters. He enjoys working with clients on their real estate transactions, wills and estate planning, corporate transactions, and family matters.
Doug is a trained mediator and enjoys helping people come to an agreement on their differences. He believes that most people’s legal problems can be solved through guided communication.

Ian thrives on the constant client interaction that comes with an active solicitor’s practice. He enjoys experiencing the excitement of meeting with first-time home buyers; the optimism of new entrepreneurs; and taking the stress out of dealing with the complexities of the law.
Ian has advised clients ranging from national corporations to small family businesses.
Ian also has a life outside the practice of law – He is an enthusiastic recreational soccer player and has been an active participant in the community through Big Brothers and Big Sisters of Lethbridge, the Lethbridge/Macleod Bar Association, the Young Professionals Association of Lethbridge (YPAL), Lethbridge Connect, Public Legal Education Alberta, and as a pro-bono lawyer for Lethbridge Legal Guidance.
Before moving to Lethbridge Ian attended Simon Fraser University (B.A.) and the University of Saskatchewan (LL.B. with distinction). He is married to Amber and is the proud parent of two future lawyers-in-training, Noah (age 7) and Zoe (age 5).
Asif helps his clients find solutions to their matters without the unnecessary use of the Courts. While he has had significant experience before the Courts appearing before the Provincial Court of Alberta, Court of Queen’s Bench of Alberta and the Alberta Court of Appeal , Asif excels at finding client centred solutions that work for each individual.
When he isn’t in the office or the court room, Asif enjoys spending time outdoors with his Wife and Son. As a die hard basketball fan, he can be frequently seen at various outdoor courts around the city.
Asif believes in giving back to the community that gives so much to him. He is currently a board member and pro-bono lawyer with Lethbridge Legal Guidance, a board member with the Lethbridge Bar Association, a presenter with Public Legal Education Alberta, and an instructor of the Parenting After Separation Course.
Prior to making Lethbridge home, Asif attended at the University of Victoria (B.A with distinction) and the University of Alberta (J.D.).
Sebastian has experience appearing before both the Court of Queen’s Bench of Alberta and the Provincial Court of Alberta. Sebastian helps his clients find practical solutions that best work for them, without expending unnecessary time or cost. Whether it be through negotiation or through the Court process, Sebastian is there to provide the tools his clients need to achieve their goals.
Sebastian has called Southern Alberta home for over 25 years. When he’s not assisting clients, it’s a safe bet you’ll find him fly-fishing one of Alberta’s streams, hitting the slopes, or playing guitar.
Sebastian is also actively involved in the community. He acts as a pro bono lawyer at Lethbridge Legal Guidance, he has acted as a board member for Lethbridge Family Centre, he is a member of the Lethbridge Bar Association, and he has been a guest lecturer at the University of Lethbridge on the topic of Collective Bargaining.
Sebastian attended the University of Lethbridge (B.A. with Great Distinction) and the University of New Brunswick (J.D.).
